RTW MONSON SWIMMING CLUB HAVE JUST GONE AND DONE IT!!!

After a hard fought Arena South Premier Final at Wycombe on the 14th of December against the top 6 clubs in the South League, RTW Monson Swimming Club have made history and are through to the National Arena League B Final. This is a long awaited first for the Club.
Coming in 5th out of 18 clubs in the South League, the news was very much welcomed over Christmas by all. As a relatively small club, many of the swimmers had to compete in multiple races as well as swimming up outside their age groups. To qualify for the National Finals is a huge achievement. "This will be the first time any of the younger swimmers 12 & Under have taken part in a National Competition." An excited Coach Karen Bradbury commented, " To do this as a team is a great way to debut and is an exciting opportunity to compete at this level. It will inspire them for the future. This is truly an experience that all the team will remember forever."
The National Arena League now in its 51st year will see its Finals held at Cardiff International Pool on the 7th/8th of March 2020. With the top 20 Club teams Nationwide competing over the two days, the Finals weekend is always LOUD and well supported.
RTW Monson was represented over the first 2 qualifying rounds and then the recent South Premier Final on December 14th by the following swimmers, each and everyone who played their part in getting the Club to the Prestigious National Finals in Cardiff.
11 & Under: Emilia Oliver, Gigi Purtell, Evelyn Bunting, Chloe Edwards, Henry Guppy, Aran Bissit, Max El-Mokadem, Jack Guppy, Oli Ebbrell
13 & Under: Lily Barwick, Jessica Gable, Holly Chapman, Olivia Griffiths, Isla Marshall, Hayden Annan, Joshua Prendegast, Toby Edwards, Dan Tollit
15 & Under: Emilia Vorster, Emma Bennett, Amelia Baker, Izzie Mercer, Charles Crewe, Harry Sinclair, Teilo Williams, Louis Hayes
Open age group: Isobel Winchester, Rose Compton, Frankie Whiting, Reuben Edwards, Kody Bradbury, Thomas Leman, Andre Strydom, Ellis Stanhope.
Proud Head Coach Graham Bassi concluded, " Two years ago we avoided relegation by one point. It's been an incredible journey to make these National Finals. We were not at full strength on the South Premier Final night in December. Many swimmers stepped up and produced some outstanding results. We will go the National Final in Cardiff and challenge for a top 3 spot. We have nothing to fear!" The Club is in a great place and the future looks very strong.
